Hello schools!

I am available for real-life (in person) and video (computer me) visits for KS1 and Reception year children to talk about my book, Pink Trucks. They are fun, interactive and sometimes a bit noisy!

The themes explored in Pink Trucks align with some of the learning objectives in the relationships education curriculum, as the book explores stereotypes associated with colours and gender in a fun and easy-to-understand way.  In my visit, I'll read the story, explore colour associations children may have and offer several fun follow-up activities (including showing my own Pink Truck - complete with 'magic' flashing lights!). There will be an opportunity for a Q&A and I'd be very happy to sign any books after the session.

I can attend for assemblies, classroom based-workshops or both. More details and the associated fees are on the link below. Please feel free to contact me to explore options with absolutely no obligation of booking.

Your engaging storytelling
and the important message of breaking stereotypes totally hooked our young audience.  The feedback from both children and teachers has been overwhelmingly positive. Many children have expressed newfound confidence in pursuing their interests, regardless of societal expectations.

Sam provided an engaging,
entertaining and informative assembly about his new book, Pink Trucks. The children loved how he brought the picture book to life, showing them the process of creating the illustrations, telling them about the inspiration behind his idea and showing them his illuminating pink truck!

Bishop Road Primary School

The children really enjoyed listening
to the story and loved looking at the bright
and colourful illustrations.  It was a really fun, engaging and interactive session.
We loved the book and it's message about individuality and it was great for the children to meet a 'real life' author!'

Jen Gibbs, Year 2 Teacher

May Park Primary School

Sam's event was incredibly well planned
and the children were completely absorbed when he shared Pink Trucks with them.
Sam changed his presentation very slightly for each year group so that everyone was fully engaged at all times, and the interactions were perfect for all ages.

The children were fully engaged in an immersive storytelling experience! They absolutely loved the story of 'Pink Trucks' and especially enjoyed being involved with telling the story using horns and wearing pink caps! The children have asked to hear the story again and again! Thanks Sam!

Sam Ford, EYFS Teacher

Ashton Gate Primary School

All pupils were really engaged and
enjoyed all of the pink facts.  Guessing the coloured item was a particular highlight! Everyone enjoyed the story and it was nice to debunk the idea that pink is a 'girls' colours. If you ever want to sell some light up pink trucks, I'm sure you would be very successful - every child wanted one!
